The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Judith Johnson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

My Special Teacher

Mrs Johnson was a one of a kind teacher. She always looked for the positive things in her students. I was a very shy person in grade 11 because I had gone to K.C.I. for grades  9 and 10 and didnt  feel comfortable coming into University Heights. By the end of grade 11 I was informed that I would be part of the leadership program/class and that i would have Mrs Johnson as my teacher. I didnt realise all the confidence that Mrs J would give me so that I was able to take a leadership role. She listened to my ideas and she used them. I did odd jobs for her and  I even got to work with her father. I  never could pernounce his last name but I realised  she got alot of  her kindness and understanding of others from him.  After graduating I still saw her from time to time out and about , but mostly at the mall. She always seemed interested in what i had to say  and  she always asked me how things were and always cared to listen.  Its a real shock  that I won't see her anymore. All the things she has taught me I continue to  use every day. Rest in Peace Mrs Johnson I will always remember you.

Mrs Johnson showed an understanding and affection to my daughter Heather that she really needed at a difficult time in her life. I am grateful that she was there to guide her and give Heather the special attention she rarely got from others. Heather is very saddened to hear of her teacher's passing as are we her parents. It's been some time since Heather graduated from University Heights but one of her fondest memories of being there was Mrs. Johnson.  We send our deepest condolences to you all and know her memory will live on in the kindness she did for others.
