The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of David Rainham can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Some doctors are angels in disguise.

My heart broke when I heard of Dr.Rainhams passing. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for the family and send my prayers and sympathy. Dr. Rainham was more then a doctor. He listened and he really listened to his patients. Very often I am told how well i look and how i look so young for my age. For a chronic pain patient this can be hard to take when every part of you is aching and you have spent the past few months hardly being able to get out of bed. Some doctors would say you look well you must be well. But not Dr.Rainham . He got to know his patients and really listened to what they were saying. HIs staff loved him and always talked kindly of him. . He played a big part in helping my son get diagnosed after years of countless appointments for this symptom and that symptom . They all seemed like mnior issues but put together they spelled a major health issue and my son is now getting some treatment. When i almost died Dr. Rainham  some how got my parents phone number and called there to speak to me when i was released from six weeks in the hospital and full life support and a coma. I guess no one had notified Dr. Rainham at the  doctors office and the compassion and caring he showed was amazing.I could hear how much he truly cared during that phone call.  The other day i went and got Dr. Rainham a gift . It seemed small for all he has done for me but i had been talking about it and had told the pharmacist i was going to get him something because of how much compassion he has shown me and my family over the years. I am down south so i had not had a chance to give it to him yet but now it seems small .I can only try to comfort his family with these words of what a great man he was and in some of his patients eyes he was truly a angel. I know he was in my life a savior many times. Living with chronic pain is hard and after putting two girls through university and helping raise grandchildren it seems to have just gotten worse with many chronic health issues on top of it.  I was lucky enough to have a true doctor that not only listened but showed some empathy for the position i was in and never said to me " Well you look fine you must be fine " . I do not think medical schools teaches  students how to become a doctor like Dr. Rainham.  To become a doctor like that you have to have compassion and heart and be a great man to begin with. Thank you Dr. Rainham for everything you have done for my family and i . To me your truly were one of the best and at times a saving angel. And to the family i send my sympathy and thanks for sharing him with all his patients . I hope that this helps you through your hard time knowing how much he was respected.   You will be sadly missed.  the leibold family.
