Some people have jobs and some people have callings. Waynes had a calling for public service. Wayne truely cared about people regardless of their age, gender, race, socio economic status. He socialized with everyone and addressed everyones concerns regarless of who they were. He was a real people person and he was someone who you would want to speak for you regardless of political idology. I have very different political views than him but there is no one who I would prefer to have represent me.
He believed in people and inspired people when my sister was 18 years old and rollerbladed accross Canada he was one of the first people who really encoraged her and believed in her. I remember he would hang out with us when we were in high school because we were interested in politics.
When I first became a lawyer I took on a complex immigration case. I called him and asked for his help his first response was I will talk to the minister tomorrow. He was not even elected at that time he was just helping. I later met him in person and asked the factual question if he had ever seen something like this before I will never forget the compassion in his response. His committment to service was simply amazing.
His death is a real lose to our region - may he rest in peace
