Ian always liked to "pull a few legs"

I never met Ian in person, but we corresponded by email several times in connection with good news stories to share for Fanshawe employees, or to help promote Fanshawe fly fishing activity to the media. I never quite knew (by email) how to take his tone - was he joking? Could he possibly be serious? I remember he had a keen eye for grammar and spelling and always had a very clear idea of the final product he wanted. In early June 2015, Ian and I emailed briefly about the possibility of a pitch to local media in advance of National Fishing Week, July 4 to 12. His last message to me, on June 9, was: "Sure. I'm in. Always nice to pull a few legs in the media. Light hearted stuff." Had he not passed so suddenly, we would have been finalizing the information and getting ready to send it only a few days after his passing. He clearly remained optimistic and even a bit whimsical. He will be missed.
