The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ian James can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Ian Scott

It is still such a shock and like a bad dream that you are gone, Ian. Your friendship over the past almost 30 years was special and you were like a brother to me. Although we both loved fly fishing, our friendship went beyond that; we probably spent more time having coffee or talking on the phone than we did on the water. Through both good times and difficult times, you were always there, no matter what. And oh those fly fishing memories! Big bass on the Thames, teaching my son Colin to cast.. and laughing over you getting your line caught up around the anchor... and the fun needling of each other at the fly fishing championships... But our friendship went beyond that. The talks.. your empathy when things were tough, the laughs when things were great. And not only a friend to me, but also to my "auld man" who also respected you deeply. So many memories that it is impossible to write them all out here. You are missed by many, and by me, very deeply. Thank you my friend, for being a friend. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. I still have many of the flies you gave me over the years and instead of putting them up on a shelf, I'll be using them, and teaching my youngest to fish.. and will share stories about your life with him.
