McDonnell, William "Ross" (Retired Director - Ontario Racing Commission)
Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Guelph General Hospital on Monday September 14, 2015 at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Marlene (nee Westphal) for 55 years. Loving father of Kelly Burwood, Kim MacDonald (Al) and Tracey Thornhill (Danny). Proud "Poppy" of Stephanie (Zac), Greg (Jenn), Danielle, Bryan, Joey, Braydan, Breanne, Steven and Pauline. Predeceased by his parents Mildred and Albert McDonnell. Ross was a 4th Degree Member Knights of Columbus and a Member on the Board of The Grand River Agricultural Society. The McDonnell family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Parish Prayers 3 p.m. Wednesday. Prayers will also be offered at the funeral home on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 9:20 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Boniface RC Church, Maryhill, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Boniface R.C. Church or KW Humane Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
