I would like to take this opportunity to provide my heartfelt condolences to Marlene and her family on the loss of William. I had the honor and blessing of getting to know both Marlene and William over the past two years at Forest Heights Long Term Care where my aunt Ivy has been a resident. I will miss Bill's spirit and friendly nature despite the many challenges that he faced. I have rarely met a more special couple than Bill and Marlene. I have rarely seen such love and utmost devotion. It was quite obvious that Marlene and Bill had a special love, the truest of love and had indeed found their soul mate. I would especially like to thank Marlene for all of her love, guidance, spirit and support she gave to myself and my aunt Ivy through the past two years. This has been the most difficult journey of my life as my aunt who has raised me since her sister my mom died when I was 12 years old, has battled the ravages of Alzheimer's disease and it has been a true blessing to have had Marlene in my life. Marlene was always there with a compliment, always there with a smile despite some dark days, always there to lend a hand and to be a true friend. Our lives will never be the same for Marlene having touched us. I will miss seeing both Marlene and Bill together, for it truly was an inspiration to see and to behold. Marlene was the closest I have seen as a true guardian angel. Thank-you Marlene for making Forest Heights a home and thank-you for being there for Ivy who is nearing the end of her journey. I have learned in the last two years that in life we have very few people who will provide unconditonal love, thank-you for showing me that unconditional love still exists. Marlene you were a bright light in a very dark tunnel. Words cannot do justice to all that you have provided to Forest Heights Long Term Care.
