With hearts full of love and wonderful memories we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Father, Husband and Grandfather on Monday, November 14, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener.
He was born 92 years ago in Kitchener, Ontario. Dear husband to the late Anne. Father to late Henry (Patricia), Barbara (Andy), Ralph (Liz), Jaqui (Randy), Keith (Annette) and Don. Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Ruona Heinrichs and siblings Yadah, Barbara, Mary and Rod. Survived by siblings Dan, Hubert, Dory, Bob and Willard. He was a grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Philip was a proud retired captain of the Kitchener Firefighters and a veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII. He was a devoted volunteer at Freeport Hospital until a week before his passing. He travelled with his wife, Anne, visiting places like Egypt, Hawaii, and Scotland. They enjoyed spending time at their Conestoga cottage and winters in Florida, and visiting family and friends. Philip was a devoted member of the Carmel Church in Kitchener.
A memorial service will be held at Carmel New Church, 40 Chapel Hill Dr. Kitchener, on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, (519) 749-8467. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario - Research or Phil and Anne Heinrichs Fund through the Cambridge and North Dumfries Community Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
