Obituary

Mark Francescutti
February 28th, 1987- August 26th, 2020

Mark passed away suddenly, at home, on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. A son, brother, partner, uncle, and friend, Mark was loved by all who knew him. Mark fought and won many battles with addiction, and his passing ends this struggle. It was not who he wanted to be. We are so proud of him for never giving up, and accomplishing so much in his life. Mark graduated from Wilfred Laurier University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, from which many of his math jokes and geeky sense of humour stemmed from. He had a love of rock climbing and the outdoors, was a lover of animals, and had a kind and open heart.

Mark's family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Please note if you plan to attend the visitation, masks are mandatory and you are required to reserve your attendance time frame through the funeral home website.

In memory of Mark, donations to the KW Humane Society or St. Mary's Counseling Center would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).

For the family of Mark, my deepest condolences to all of you. I only knew Mark from Grand River Rocks, he greeted my daughter and I all those early mornings and we had many interesting conversations, often cutting into our small amount of climbing time but that was ok, because he was so nice and interesting. He was always helpful when we struggled with a certain route. We never would have guessed that he was struggling because he was always smiling and in a good mood. We were happy to hear of his accomplishments and all that he was involved in. The shock of losing such a beautiful human being leaves me lost for words. As a mother, my heart breaks for you. I am so sorry for your loss, it must be great.

Dear Mary Jane and Paul,

I am so, so sorry to hear of Mark's passing. My heart goes out to you and all of your family at this terrible, sad time.

I remember back when we took our tiny, little preschoolers bowling! Thanks for that fun; I would never have discovered that on my own! Happy memories like those are what you can always cherish.

I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts. I often think of you anyway when remembering good times at CKCO! God bless you.

Francescutti family, Since the days of ESQ camp, running around entertaining young children with slime and liquid nitrogen ice cream, birthday celebrations at The Duke, to the last time we hung out at Grand River Rocks, Mark was always the most kind, welcoming, compassionate and passionate, hilarious and intelligent human. I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. He was so lucky to have the love of such a supportive and kind family. Love & prayers from Lauren Duimering & family

It's no exaggeration to say that knowing Mark has made me a better person simply through understanding his struggles and following the way he treated everyone; with immense kindness and compassion. He will be greatly missed
