Obituary for Marianne Gertrude Stemerdink (Thomer)
Stemerdink, Marianne:
Passed away unexpectedly with her family at her side on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Gerrit (2004). Loving mother of Gina Stirling (David), Angela Proksch (Ray Potvin) and Michael Proksch (Kathy). Proud Oma of Lauren Koz (Nathan), Kelly Tippin (Dave Tomlinson), Jeff Proksch (Katie) and Lucas Proksch and Great-Oma to her little sweeties, Lillian Koz and Rowan Proksch. Fondly remembered by Gerrit's children, John Stemerdink (Janet), Gary Stemerdink (Diane), Wim Stemerdink (Lyndell) and Joyce Irving (Stephen) and their families. Also remembered by Inge Proksch.
Special thanks to the ICU nurses Natalya and Stephanie for their compassionate care.
Marianne's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 - 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2015 in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the War Amps Champs Program or KidsAbility would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
