Suddenly at St. Mary’s Hospital on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband Albino Pires (1985) and a grandson César Monico (2008). Sadly missed by her children Maria Camacho (Joao), Gracinda Sousa (Joao), Emilia Diniz (Antonio), Manuel Pires (Maria) all in Canada and Rosalina Pires (Manuel), Domingos Pires ((Maria) in Portugal. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Paul, Nuno, Christina, Maria, Rick, Pedro, Sonia, Liliana, Blandina, Rodrigo, Dilsa and Stacey and her great grandchildren Ines, Catarina, Alexius, Anthony, Diana, Alyssa and Domingos.

Maria’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5 – 9 pm on Wednesday March 20, 2013 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:15pm, Father Antonio Cunha officiating. Interment at Santa Catarina, Caldas da Rainha, Portugal.
