According to his wishes, Malcolm died peacefully at home with his family and dogs by his side on October 29, 2020 at the age of 79. Malcolm is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Barbara. He leaves behind his two loving daughters Suzanne Cook (Ronald Blechner) of Brampton and Julie Cook (Kirk Kahu) of Hong Kong. He will be missed as Grandpa Cook by his five adoring and awesome grandchildren Ryan, Shaelynn, Megan, Liliana and Mateo. His siblings the late Ronald, Stuart (Nancy) Chandler, Jean Langdon-Ford (Lewis) will cherish his memory. Malcolm was predeceased by his first wife Janice Cook. He will be remembered dearly by many nieces, nephews and extended relatives and friends from Nova Scotia.

He spent much of his leisure time volunteering as an elder at Kitchener East Presbyterian Church and as a CPR instructor at the local YMCA. To You Barbara Cook; Words can not express how saddened I am about Malcolm's passing.
I and my late husband Gene were off and on at your place in Waterloo taking part
at many family BBQ, having a good time with Our Grandchildren that we shared thru the
marriage of daughter Suzanne Cook and our son Ron Blechner. Malcolm had a great personality
easy to talk too outgoing and a great host. We were always thankful for him driving to Brampton to pick
Eco the family dog of Suzanne and Ron and looking after him until the family returned from their holiday.
Even when a last- minute babysitter was needed you were available to make that trip to Brampton
because the trip for us was more stressful.
Cherish the memories of 33 years you spend traveling and sharing the wonderful mission work you did
in Honduras and Guatemala
Malcolm will be missed by many friends and family members and especially by his loving grandchildren
Rest in peace Ingrid Blechner

Dear Barb, Julie, Kirk, Sue, Ron, and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Malcolm will forever be known for his compassion, kindness, and love of life, and he always had a gentle way about him. He has instilled these values in all of you and will live on within each of you. While we could not be there in person to provide comfort and support, we send our thoughts and prayers to you. We participated in the livestream and enjoyed hearing about the special memories. Cherish and find comfort in the memories during this difficult time.

Dear Suzanne and Ron & Family,
We are thinking of you during this difficult time. Suzanne - your dad always had a smile on his face. I remember all the family activities we did as kids and all the wonderful times at your house and the things our families did together. The cross-country ski trips, the car trips, the guitar playing, ... . He always had a generous and kind heart, which continued throughout his life with his mission work and other activities. I wish I could be there in person to give you a hug and reminisce with stories about your dad.

Dear Barb,
Sadly, we are not able to attend Malcolm's funeral in person. We wish we could be there. Malcolm was a kind soul who touched everyone's lives. Your activities and missions together inspired many people and he will be deeply missed. Our condolences to you.

Love, Monica & Brian & Family, Tallahassee, Florida
