Passed away peacefully, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side, at Grand River Hospital, on Sunday, January, 29, 2012, at the age of 73.
Father of Jodi Matthews, Brian Matthews, Shellie MacKinnon (Ashley) and Jeff Matthews (Penny Riley).
Papa of Kelsey, Trevor and Jacob Knoop, Tyler and Dana Matthews, Brittany Colley, Joshua and Aaron MacKinnon, Kyle and Kendra Matthews.
Great-Papa of Lyra and Austin Colley.
Brother of Helen Sennuck (Mike) and Donna Mossing (Bob).
Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Marjorie Matthews.
John’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 9am-9:45am, followed by a memorial service in the chapel of the funeral home, at 10am.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards are available at the funeral home).
