McTavish, Joan (nee. Sparkman)
went home peacefully to be with her Lord on Monday, September 28th, 2020 at Innisfree House in her 86th year.
Joyfully reunited with her husband of 54 years, Rev. Richard McTavish (2010). Loving mother of Duncan (Parveneh), Cameron (Diane), and Linda (Steve) Jackson. Adored and missed by her grandchildren Decia and Ried (Rachel), Ryan and Jason, Elisia and Willem.
Sister of Bev (Donna Sparkman), and sister-in-law to Keith (late Ellen) Clutton and Bill (Joanne) McTavish. Also missed by many nieces and nephews.
Joan was a hairdresser for many years. She also served in many capacities through churches alongside her husband, particularly Paisley and Walkerton Baptist Church.
The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff of Innisfree House who cared for Joan through her final days, as well as her residence Parkwood Suites for many years of care and friendship.

Our sympathies. Joan was such an encouragement and blessing to us in our ministry at Paisley Baptist and thereafter. She was a woman of faith who served as an example to so many. We will miss her. David & Heather Cooke

Duncan, Cam, and Linda - I just finished watching the streaming service for your Mom. So beautiful. My Mom listened in via the phone from my home to hers as her computer just wasn't capable. It was a very moving memorial and very meaningful. Well done, especially under these circumstances we find ourselves in. Peace be with you all.

The loss of a Mom is a loss like no other. She did a good job here with all of you and I have no doubt she felt truly blessed with the loved shared within your family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you as you experience the final life chapter of Joan's book of life. It is a novel with many treasured memories. Wishing you endearment and support as you carry out your own book.

Our sympathy is with you in the loss of your Mother.
Joan was such a lovely woman and an inspiration to all who came in contact with her - well loved and well respected and always a joy to speak with whether in Walkerton or later when Mom, Jean Bowering, became a resident at Parkwood. A truly lovely Lady in every respect.
Wishes, thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
