JADWIGA “Hedy” PIETRZAK (nee Adamski): Died peacefully in her sleep during the early hours of October 31st, 2011 at Sunnyside Home.

Jadwiga was born January 8th, 1925 in Sieradz, Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1947 arriving in Montreal before settling in Kitchener a few years later. She met her soon-to-be husband Walter and they married in 1950. They built a house on South Drive and later a cottage on Lake Huron near Kincardine, Ontario.

She leaves behind her devoted husband Walter and four children; Ed and his wife Pamela, Karen (Prokopec) and her husband Michael, Ted and his wife Marlene, and Stan. She also leaves eight grand children, Alex, Bradley, Charlotte, Christina, Cory, Jack, Katie and Tyler as well as one great grandchild, Emma.

Jadwiga was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of Sacred Heart RC Church and a member of the ladies auxillary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Polish Branch 412.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street between 2-4pm and 5-7 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 with parish prayers at 3:30pm .

The Funeral Mass for Jadwiga will be held at Sacred Heart Parish, 66 Shanley Street, Kitchener at 10am on Thursday, November 3, 2011 . Interment Woodland Cemetery. A reception will follow at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Sacred Heart Parish.
