Obituary for Ivan Wilbert Hector Cutts

Ivan Wilbert Hector Cutts
Cutts, Ivan (Poppy) (Bud)
1923-2015
Suddenly after a short illness, we are deeply saddened to announce that after a happy, productive life, Poppy has gone on his final journey. Gone to join his wife Thelma (Mono), his darling daugther Janet (who he missed terribly), his brother Cecil, his sister Elsie and his Mom and Dad.
Left to mourn his absence are daughter Judy (Tom) McFadden, grandsons Chad (Adelle) Stoyles, Scott Stoyles, Cameron Vannatter, great grandchildren Celynn, Jasman, Autumn, Kaela, Tyson, and great-great grandson Jaydon, nieces, nephews and more friends than you could count. He will also be missed by his new family of friends and care givers at Winston Park Retirement Village.
Ivan (Bud) had a full life. He wore many hats during his lifetime including a hoistman at many mines all across Canada and ending his career at Costain Homes, Kitchener. Having lost a leg in the war, he was a member of, and secretary treasurer for the Kitchener Branch of the War Amps of Canada, a 69 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion (most recently Branch 50) and a member of Branch 247 of the Army and Navy Club. During the war he was a proud member of the Argyll and Southland Highlanders. He received many accolades and awards during his lifetime, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada. He did many good deeds and helped countless people on their journey. Poppy loved life. He loved a good joke, a puzzle, a game of cribbage, poker or euchre. He especially loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandson and was so very proud of all their accomplishments. His passing will leave a huge hole in our lives and in our hearts. He will be missed by one and all.
As per Dad's request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the The War Amps or Make A Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family (donations can be made by calling the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467).
Rest in Peace you special one and say hi to Mono and Janet.
