Obituary for Ivan J. Crnekovic

Ivan J. Crnekovic
Crnekovic, Ivan (1937-2015)
Our beloved Ivan Crnekovic lost his battle with cancer and died on Sunday October 4, 2015. Ivan will be truly missed by his family, many friends and neighbours who loved and respected him in Canada and Croatia. Loving husband to Dragica of 50 years, dear father to John, the late Maryann (2009) and Caroline, father-in-law and best friend to Henry. Adoring Deda to Christian and Katharine. Predeceased by his parents Ivan (1937) and Slava (2001). Born in Odra, Zagreb, Croatia, Ivan immigrated to Canada in 1958 and began building his wonderful life with hard-work and determination. A self-made and successful businessman, Ivan took great pride in his work as a skilled mason and custom building quality homes across Kitchener-Waterloo. Ivan was a great community organizer and actively built and supported the Croatian church, soccer, politics and culture. Ivan was a hard-working, honourable and genuinely caring person who helped many. Ivan wanted to make the world better and more beautiful in the best way he knew how, and encouraged all to do the same through his example.
