Lodato, Irene E.
Passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Sunnyside Home at the age of 99.
Loving mother of Anne Lodato, Adrienne MacFarlane (Ken) and Mike Lodato (Karen).
Cherished grandma of Rob, Jeff, Nikki, Jodi (Terry), Molly and Jennifer (Patrick) and great-grandma of Ashlynn, Jaylen, Eloise and Georgina.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son Jim, former husband Leonard, sister Anne Nemeth and her brothers Frank (Viola) and John (Frances) Nemeth.
Irene, lovingly remembered by her family and friends, was a lady of very strong faith that carried her throughout her life. She was well known by all to always end her conversations with "God Bless You". She loved to paint, cook, garden and always had the time and patience to share these activities, especially baking cookies, with her children and later her grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St. W. Waterloo, on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A reception and visitation will follow the Funeral Mass, at 12:00 p.m. in the church hall and all are welcome.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sunnyside Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the reception).
Special thanks to all the wonderful staff at Sunnyside home, particularly the staff of Pioneer Tower for their compassionate and gentle care and support.
