My Uncle

As a nephew I have so many stories to tell of my Uncle

As a child one could not have had a better Uncle.  We went to the zoo together and visited so  many places in Toronto.  He had a really cool Sirocco sports car that my dad had to constantly fix.  I remember him buying me a model of a blue thunderbird which I put together with his help.

He had an incredible sense of humour. At many of our family birthday parties and Christmas get togethers Uncle Helmut would organize all sorts of entertainment for all of us.  I'm sure many of my cousins will remember the King and Queen of Siam Routine....... It was Brilliant....

My dad and Uncle Helmut trained us on riding lawn mowers and the importance of planting trees.. and more trees..  We worked together on designing a beautiful building for a country property.  Back in the day AutoCAD was extremely complicated to use.. There were so many changes and everything worked out great in the end.

I remember him taking hours to teach me how to collect various things that I am so thankful for today.

In College he was always there helping my friend Peter and I to understand many of the formulas and  calculations that we were being taught.

He may have gone home but the memories will live on as I have shared them with my children.....
