Passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on Monday, December 23, 2019, at Sunnyside Long Term Care Home in Kitchener. Helen was raised in Formosa before moving to Kitchener where she met her beloved husband, David Miller who predeceased her in 2005. They raised a loving family in Kitchener before retiring in Point Clark.
Cherished mother of Brad (Joanne) Miller of Wellesley and Brenda (David) Vollmer of St Agatha. Proud grandmother of Matthew Vollmer and Jalen Noronha. Sadly missed by her brother and sisters Geraldine and Edward Lehman of Baden, Florence and Frank Lehman of Kitchener, John and Sharon Waechter of Formosa, Ken Waechter of Walkerton, Walter and Connie Waechter of Formosa and Alfred and Diane Waechter of Formosa and a number of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her parents Edward and Marie Waechter and her sister Margaret Weishar.
Helen loved spending time with her family and friends. Helen worked at Grebs/Kodiac and Bauer before retiring in 1997 to help care for her grandson, Matthew.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Sunnyside Home, in particular Laurel Creek, for the compassionate care and comfort which they provided.
Helen's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday December 30, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment service will be held at Memory Gardens. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Sunnyside Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
