Obituary for Lyndon Deyarmond

Lyndon Deyarmond
Deyarmond, Grover Lyndon

It is with great sadness that the family of Grover Lyndon Deyarmond, 83, announce that he passed away peacefully on June 25, 2019 at Lisaard House in Cambridge, Ontario after a brief illness followed by a massive stroke.

He will be forever missed and loved by his beloved wife of 62 years, Audrey (nee McNutt), son Greg and daughter Joanne (Dan Lyon), grandchildren Danielle and Andrew, great grandchildren Ayla, Quinton and Kai. He was loved by his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers Francis and Perley, sister Phyllis (Beazley), parents Alice (nee Weatherbee) and Grover.

Lyndon retired from the CNR after 35 years with CN and VIA, but his retirement did not stop his love for trains. He proudly wore his CNR pins on special occasions. He was a great cook, and many who worked with him will remember him fondly for his many meals. Lyndy’s lunch, as it was known to fellow employees, was always busy!

He was quick witted and a lot of fun. He was his wife’s arms, legs and heart. The family is devastated by his passing because he was always so healthy. Everyone who knew him liked him. He had a heart of gold and a smile that could light the night sky. He was caring, compassionate and very loving. He was a wonderful father and husband who cannot be replaced.

In keeping with my father’s wishes, there will not be any service. Donations can be made to a charity of your choosing (cards available at the funeral home). Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467. Visit www.henrywalser.com for Lyndon's memorial.
