Passed away after a short illness, on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 97.

Beloved husband of Shirley Double for 68 years.
Loving father of Debbie Griffin (Peter), Jim, Susan Wilson and Rick (Marjan).
Cherished grandfather of Carolyn (Wendy), Devon (Mike), Erin (Jamie), Darcy (Kevin), Lane (Katie), Alexander and Claire and cherished great-grandfather of Benjamin and Lucas.
Dear brother of Noreen Gaul.
Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers and sister; Cliff, Bernard, Louise Scott and Lloyd.

Gord was born and raised in Stratford, ON. He served overseas in the Canadian Air Force, during World War ll. He returned to Canada and married the love of his life, Shirley (nee Smith) in 1950. Gord was an employee for Bell Canada for 42 years and enjoyed square dancing with the Beaux and Belles Square Dance Club for over 40 years. He also enjoyed attending concerts and theatre productions and was a hockey fan. Gord and Shirley are Charter Members of St. James'-Rosemount United Church. He was an active volunteer with the K-W Silver Stars Theatre, as an actor and the lighting and sound technician for many years.

Gord's family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home, immediately following the visitation, at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Chris Fickling officiating. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the K-W Silver Stars would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
