Obituary for Elizabeth Ann Hiscock

Elizabeth Ann Hiscock
Elizabeth Ann (Gosse) (Pitts) Hiscock
April 27, 1933 - September 02, 2020
Elizabeth (Betty) was born to James and Florence on Bell Island, NL.
As an intelligent, talented, resourceful and energetic woman with a
wonderful sense of humour, she was the easiest person in the world to love.
She was truly extraordinary and remarkable and will be sorely missed by all
who had the privilege to know her.
Devoted wife of James (Jim) Raymond Hiscock.
Predeceased by her first husband, Corbett William Pitts.
Loving mother of David (Donna), Rhona (Philip),
Noel (Joan), Frank (Diane), Bonita (Joe), Ruby (Robin), Maureen (Jerry),
Keith (Christine), Corina (Dennis), Robert (Melissa).
Cherished Nanny of Sonya, Heather, Darroch, Timothy, Ryan,
Michelle, Brandon, Gavin, Amanda, Micheal, Daniel, Meagan, Stephanie,
Colby, Kayla, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Dear sister of Isabel (Rupert Davis) (both deceased), Edna (William O'Brien),
Daphne (Vince Fava - deceased), Charles (deceased).
Extended family of in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, and a countless
number of friends.
Betty had ten children with her first husband, Corbett.  When he
unexpectedly passed at the age of 31, Betty devoted her energy to
maintaining the family home and raising her children.  Assuming the role of
post-mistress to support her family, this did not hinder Betty from working
ceaselessly to instill core values of integrity, compassion, kindness and
respect in her children.  She was a gifted seamstress, cook, and baker.
Betty was happiest when helping those in need and never said no to those
who asked.
For the past several years, Betty has resided on Bauline Line with her
husband Jim, until her passing after a brief illness.
Betty's family extends a special thank-you to her personal health care
workers - Sharon Hynes and Stephanie Tucker.

Cremation has taken place. Interment will occur on Wednesday, September
09, 2020 at the Bauline Line cemetery in Newfoundland.

In lieu of flowers, please perform a random act of kindness in Betty's
honour.  Her children say Mom would like that.
A life born in love
Devoted to others
Will ne'er be in vain
