Condolence From: Lisa Allan
Condolence: The first time I had met my dad was back in 1991.
Him, my mom and myself went to a restaurant and had a few drinks. While walking back to my mom's place, he yells out a couple of times "I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!" He didn't care who heard it.
As years went on, this was the only dad I have known and loved.
He was a good son. Knowing that he did talk about his mom and that he loved her very much.
He was a great friend with his strong laughter that was contagious and would put a smile and grin on anyone's face.
He was an amazing dad. His sense of humour that would leave me shaking my head, rolling my eyes and saying "Dad!"
The excitement he felt when I had asked him to walk me down the aisle and for him to give me away at my wedding. One of my favourite photos from the reception was that you could see the happiness while he was dancing up a storm.
He was totally estatic when he found out he was becoming a grandparent and was proud to have the title called Papa.
He became an awesome Papa to Shawna. Always offering his water, snacks like chips/cookies which he never minded sharing with her. There was mornings where Shawna would be at my parent's place, my dad would ask Shawna "What would you like for breakfast?" Guess what the answer would be, "Ice Cream". How could he refuse?
One of my favourite memories was when Shawna was approximately the age of four. She had brought over her sour cream and onion rings. He detested sour cream but everytime Shawna would feed him those chips, he would always finish each one with a smile and say "ummm".
I know he missed my mom dearly after she passed away, just before this past Christmas and I know that they are together again. I figured he died from a broken heart.
I love you dad. Please give mom a hug from Shawna and myself. Also dad, don't worry, I'll take care of your cat Cutie Pie "The food inspector" which Nala and Miss Autumn isn't too impress with at the moment but they will have to learn to get along.
