Sloat, Donald "Don":
Passed away very unexpectedly on Monday, June 3, 2019 in his 83rd year.
Beloved husband of the late Donna Sloat (nee Finnerty; 2017).
Loving father of Michael Sloat and Karen Lebold, and father-in-law of Brad Lebold.
Proud grandpa of Mikayla, Kaia and Ty.
Will be missed by his special friend Dorothy Hobson and her family.
Loved by his nieces and nephews and their families.
Don was an avid curler at the Granite Club and enjoyed golfing in the summer. He was active in his community at Luther Village. He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Don was very active in the KW Cystic Fibrosis Chapter for 45 years.
The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and nurses in the ER at St. Mary's Hospital.
Don's family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 with a funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Cystic Fibrosis Canada (KW Chapter) would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
