January 16, 1931 - August 31, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Don in the loving arms of his wife Donna of 62 years of marriage with his children by his side on August 31, 2019.
Survived by his children: Leanne (Mike), Scott (Joady), Chris (Sherry) and grandchildren Craig, Cory, Kyle, Kendra, Alex and 8 great-grandchildren.
Also will be missed by his brothers: Charles (Chuck) and Richard (Rick), with all his nieces, nephews, as well his In-laws: Jim (Mary Anne) & Penny Walker.
Predeceased by his parents: Charles F. Cousineau and Mary Callista Violet Gilmette and his siblings Len, Bob, Joan and Diane, and his children John and Craig.

Don was employed with Electrohome for over 35 years, retired and then Authored two successfully published Fishing books, as well as coaching and training for the Ontario Boating License.
In Don’s spare time, he created a fishing Museum in his basement, and pride in making his own lures, called Cousy Spoons.
He enjoyed playing hockey to the age of 81 with University of Waterloo and the Kitchener Old Timers League and invested years of coaching with Don Hayes Hockey School as well as Kitchener Minor Hockey School.
Don was a Volunteer for many years with Park & Recs building local public ice rink.
He truly enjoyed his daily gatherings with his friends at MacDonald’s and cherished that to the end.

Don's family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation continues on Friday, September 6, from 12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery will follow the service and guests are welcome to join the family for a time of fellowship back at the Funeral Home.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
