Condolence From: Deanna MacDonald
Condolence: I'm so sorry to learn of Barb's passing. She was a wonderful person; I enjoyed working with her briefly in Kingston and staying in touch online. I had no idea; such a huge loss to the library community, her patrons, and of course her family.

Condolence From: Pam Harris
Condolence: Barb was an amazing advocate, not just for children’s or library services - for which she was passionate - but for ensuring people find their best selves moving forward. Full of humour. A loving proud aunt and daughter. Barb taught me the importance of joy in the moment. She will be sorely missed.

My thoughts and condolences to her family and friends and to all those who loved her.

Condolence: On behalf of the Ontario Library Association, I am sending deepest condolences on the loss of our wonderful library colleague Barb.

Barb was an advocate for children's library services and was a volunteer with OLA - notably on the OLA Super Conference planning committee a few years ago.

Our thoughts are with the family and library friends of Barb.

Condolence: What a dreadful loss Barb is, not only to her family and friends, but to the whole community. The last time we visited in K-W and were with Barb and her parents, she showed us around KPL with such great pride and enthusiasm. I just knew how much the children she reached out to must have loved her. There are no words to express sorrow at the loss of a child and Barb was certainly a beloved child as well as a fine adult.

Condolence: I am one of the many grade one teachers that Barb came to visit each year to instill a love of books to our young learners at Blessed Sacrament School in Kitchener. She truly loved seeing their faces light up with the books she selected just for them. Her gift of enthusiasm and story telling made such an impact and they couldn’t wait to visit their nearest library. My condolences to all of her loved ones during this difficult time.

Condolence: So sorry to hear of Barb's passing. We met in graduate school and I remember her as a positive, caring soul who worked so hard and was always willing to help others. I appreciated her positivity, clever mind and dedication to whatever she pursued. I always imagined she'd bring our class all together for a reunion one day! Best wishes to her family. Know that Barb will be missed by many.

Condolence: I first came to know Barb during our time together at Trent University. She was a wonderful friend over the years and intrinsic part of my time at the university. I cannot say what an absolute gift it was to come to know Barb. I can't image the void her passing has left her family, friends, and community.

Condolence: Barb had a wonderful influence on so many campers and camp staff over the years. I feel fortunate to have learned from her and to have soaked up her wisdom. I will always remember her generosity, warmth and humor. What a terrible loss for her family, friends, the camp community, and the library.
