Obituary for Audrey Dorothea McBride (Bristol)

Audrey Dorothea McBride (Bristol)
Dorothea (Dot) McBride 1923-2016
Passed away suddenly at Princess Gardens, Peterborough on April 28, 2016 at the age of 92.
Beloved wife of the late Robert (2007). Loving mother of James (Glynis), Dave (Sally), and Don (Joan). She is lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Audrey Dorothea Bristol was born in Kitchener Ontario and spent most of her life there until she moved to Peterborough in 2010. She was the fourth of eight children of Edward Bristol and Ada Wismer, all of whom are deceased other than two sisters, Ruth Stranaghan of Barrie and June Wilson of Kitchener.
Dot and Bob owned and operated Western Tire and Auto Supplies in Kitchener for over 30 years. Family members have fond memories of times at the family summer cottage in Honey Harbour. She and Bob also spent many happy winters at Tree Lakes in Florida. All of her life, she enjoyed cards, games and music. Dorothea was a big Toronto Blue Jays fan and watched every game on T.V.
We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Princess Gardens where she enjoyed good health and participated in many enjoyable activities during the final years of her life. She especially enjoyed times with her best friend, Kay, often walking to the mall and stopping for coffee. Just this past February, she enjoyed a senior’s bus trip to Daytona Beach.
Dorothy was a wonderful, happy and caring woman who enjoyed all that life has to offer. She will be dearly missed.
A memorial visitation to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener from 3 - 5:30 pm with tributes and memories at 3:30 pm.
A private family interment will take place at Memory Gardens.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (cards available at the funeral home).
