Obituary for Werner Heinz Kolb

Werner Heinz Kolb
Kolb, Werner Heinz:
May 4, 1929 - November 5, 2019

Passed away peacefully at the age of 90 and a half.
Beloved husband of Martha for 63 years.
Loving Dad to Barry (Cindy). Grandpa to Andrew (Brianna) and Amy (Dave).

He was born in Stuttgart, Germany and grew up in a beautiful garden city. He immigrated to Canada after the second World War and settled in Kitchener with the help of his aunt and uncle. Here he met and married Martha, started a family and continued to ply his trade as a barber. But his true passion kept calling.

In 1958, they started a new adventure named "Kolb's Green Thumb Nursery", which his family continues to operate. This allowed him to never really have to retire. He could be seen putzing around the garden centre until his mobility diminished. He was proud to be a founding member of Landscape Ontario.

The family wishes to thank the numerous care givers and organizations that helped with Dad's care. In particular, we wish to acknowledge the fabulous staff at Innisfree House.

Werner's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A private family funeral will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate memorial donations to Innisfree House (cards available at the funeral home).
