Obituary for Alice Elizabeth Rosenau (Dreher)

Alice Elizabeth Rosenau (Dreher)
Rosenau, Alice (nee Dreher):
Surrounded by her family, Alice Elizabeth Rosenau went to meet her heavenly Father after suffering a heart attack on Friday, December 29, 2017. She will be missed by her husband Ewald, who loved her for 63 years, her children Gert (Elke), Rolfe (Sherry) and Karin Freer (Shawn), her grandchildren, Rebekah Quinlan (Michael), MarjaLiese Deeth (Dan), Stephanie Rosenau, Jake Rosenau, Jennifer Van Dyk (Nicholas), Liam Freer (Laura) and Nicholas Freer, and her great-grandchildren Esther Grace, Asher, Caden, Lyla, Nolan, Aubrey & Nicholas. Alice came to Canada in 1952 with her parents Eduard and Olga Dreher and her brother Henry. They settled in Kitchener, where she met and married Ewald Rosenau in 1954. Together they worked hard to provide a loving home for their family. Her love of baking did not go unnoticed by anyone. She loved living in her community and being "Oma" to her neighbours. In the summer months you could find her at their trailer, which quickly became their second home for over 30 years. Alice faithfully attended Martin Luther Evangelical Church.
Alice's family and friends are invited to Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener, 519-749-8467, for visitation on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 9 am to 11 am. A service celebrating her life begins at 11 am followed by a reception at the funeral home. Private family interment at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Martin Luther Evangelical Church or Liebenzell Mission of Canada would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
