It's hard to narrow down the memories to share and it's even harder to convey the incredible woman, mentor and mom she was. But I have chosen to share one memory we talked about a lot through the years and more specifically over the last few months.
Mom was the type of person who prided herself in attending all of her childrens sports games, practices, competitions, tournaments, etc (and more recently attending as many of her grandchildrens as well). It lead to a lot of great memories and special times together.
This memory took place when I was playing softball in my teens. My mom and I were going to a tournament in the NIagara Falls area and if you know my mom anytime she was close to the border she made a trip across. This time we stopped at one of our favourite wing places and order a lot of chicken wings and a half slab of pizza. That became our meals for the majority of the weekend. This doesn't seem like much of a memory but when you are camping in your van, sharing really close quarters and having the smell of pizza, chicken wings and grease in your vehicle / sleeping quarters it makes for a fun and hungry weekend. Mom and I have laughed and shared this story for years. This is but one memory I will cherish forever with my mom.
