I was connected to Uncle Gerald when I was a child and actually at a later time in about !968, I traveled to Kitchener and spend a long weekend with both Uncle Gerald and his brother Bobby. It was a great weekend to be sure. Regrettably after this I lost contact for a long time; life does seem to do this to people and families. I started to do some family research a number of years ago and discovered from other family members that Uncle Gerald was also interested in family genealogy. I reconnected with Uncle Gerald a few years ago to persue our mutual interest. In October 2015 I again made a trip to Kitchener to visit with him and his wonderful wife Betty and to chat with Uncle Gerald face to face about family history. After I traveled to Kitchener Uncle Gerald and I continued to exchange "old" family photographs....we would mail them back and forth to each other through Canada Post. There were literally 100s and 100s of photos whereas he identified the people in the photographs for me. He was such a great guy and inspired me so much to continue what I was doing...."uncle Gerald I will soon get this project finished." The last exchange we had which was just a couple of weeks ago involved once again more photographs. I was feeling somewhat guilty for the cost of the postage being incurred on him by this project so I inserted a $10.00 bill in an envelope with yet another load of photographs and a note stating the $10.00 was to help with postage. He never said a word about this but when I received the photos back from him...."there was the $10.00 bill." Thanks buddy...I could not have done this without your inputs and knowledge of our family, Love you. Nephew Bill(y) Quigley
