The Things I Remember Most:
I did not know Stan as a young man but I did have the pleasure of knowing him in his later years. I have many memories of Stan but two memories are the most vivid to me.
The first memory I have is from Thanksgiving several years ago. It was a very cold day and Stan had come over earlier in the afternoon. The kids were much younger and wanted to play some boards games which of course Stan gladly agreed to. They played for hours upon hours and with the exception of a few sibling arguments they had a great time. After diner was over and a few more games were played it was time for Stan to leave. As I walked him to his car he talked non-stop about the kids and was very energetic. You could tell from the smile on face that he really enjoyed himself.
The second memory I have is from one of the dance recitals. I was sitting a few seats from and Stan and Jessica had just come onstage. I can’t remember the number she was performing but I do remember looking over at Stan and he had a big smile on his face and was sort of bobbing his head to the number. After the recital was over we were standing outside waiting for Jessica to come out and I overheard him talking to someone about Jessica’s performance. The pride and admiration in his voice was unmistakable.
The biggest lasting impression I will always have of Stan is his love and devotion to his grandchildren and family. He will be missed
