The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Frank Udvari can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

We have lost a sweet and generous man.

I met Frank just a couple of years back as our company become a tenant in one of Frank’s properties, and neighbour to daughter Jane’s most amazing Donsig cones.  From my first meeting Frank, through to discussing lease terms and then later in many subsequent conversations, it struck me that he certainly carried his belief in fairness and straight-shooting off the rink with him.

I learned bits about Frank, the time he spent in Florida, his family, his approach to dealing with tenants, and even some of his early ref’ing stories, but what I will  remember best is his great kindness and generosity.

In one of our early conversations we were talking about family and at some point it came up that my son played hockey.  Not a couple of days later and in strolls Frank, holding a couple of signed pictures for my son Derek, sharing some of Frank’s famous hockey moments.

Being next door to Jane, we’d often see Frank stroll by our windows on his way past, and invariably at some point he’d swing his head around quickly to peak in and throw up a hand to wave hello :) If we caught him (he was quick off the ice as well!) we’d run out for a quick chat.  We’d have a nice conversation that would often end with Frank asking how our waffle cone supply was doing :)  Then he’d run back and grab a sleeve and bring them over for our team to enjoy.

I think I can speak for the whole team when I say we won’t enjoy a waffle cone in the future without it reminding us of Frank and his big heart.

Best wishes to Colette, Jane, Marty and the rest of the family.

We will miss you Frank.

Your friends at Clear Software,

Stephen, Mason, Mike, Bob, Tom, Stephen and Christopher
