The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Douglas Sherk can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Kawa Hasan and family.
Condolence: As Doug's neighbour for the last several years, there are a few things that really stand out about him. He was always smiling and willing to give a helping hand, even when it seemed he didn't have the time. He was also very proud to be a grandfather and one could tell how much he truly loved his grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with Doug and his entire family. He will be sorely missed.

Condolence: My prayers and thoughts go out to the Sherk family. Doug was an amazing son, brother, dad, grandpa, uncle and best friend.
His family was the most important thing to him.
Doug also made the BEST ceasar salad ever!!.
His laugh could shake the walls of a house, and his smile brightened so many lives.
Rest in peace Doug and smile down from above and watch over your family.

Condolence: Doug,

I'll never forget the kindness and hospitality you gave when l travelled to Canada twice. The first time you let a complete stranger into your home. I'm sure that card game is etched into my memory for all the wrong reasons. RIP Mr Sherk. Condolences to your family

Condolence From: The CBSA Team
Condolence:
We are so sorry to hear of Doug’s sudden passing and want to express our most sincere sympathies to the Sherk family during this difficult time.

We at the Canada Border Services Agency had the privilege of working with Doug on License Plate Reader deployments for many years. Doug was a highly valuable and respected installer of the B&H deployment team.

He made the days go by quickly with his great stories, reminiscing about his love for cooking, and endless love for his granddaughter.

He will be greatly missed on deployments and everyone here at CBSA is very saddened by his passing. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with the Sherk family during this very difficult time.

May you find peace and love in the memories you cherish.

With sincere sympathy,

CBSA Team – Erin, Brad, Julie, Baljeet, Cristina, Denis, Lisa, André, Carlo, and Francis
