Obituary for Sima Alilovic

Sima Alilovic
Alilovic, Sima (nee Brkic)
Passed away peacefully at home on Friday June 21 at the age of 74, with her loving family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sima fought for over 24 years but sadly she was called to share in the eternal promise of everlasting life. We find comfort in that promise. Sima was the beloved wife of 53 years of Rade Alilovic.
She is survived by son Ivica (fiance Diana) Alilovic of Croatia and daughter Mira (John) Karlovich of Kitchener.
Much loved grandmother of Max and Thomas, who she treasured. She awaited with love and affection the birth of a new grandson; we know she will look on him with tenderness.
She was born in Brljica, Hercegovina on August 25, 1944. She came to Canada in 1975 with her family.
Predeceased by her father Franjo (1945) and her mother Ruza (2006).
Fondly remembered by cherished brothers Jozo Brkic and Ante (Ruza) Brkic and family.
Sima will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Sima’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Monday June 24 at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 with Holy Rosary at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Croatian Church, 180 Schweitzer St., Kitchener on Tuesday June 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery in Kitchener, Father Miro Grubisic OFM officiating
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to support the renewal of the cemeteries in Sima’s hometowns of Brljica and Radisici, Hercegovina (cheques payable to Radoslav Alilovic), or a charity of your choice. Cards available at the funeral home.
A heartfelt thank you to all family and friends for your friendship, support and prayers during Sima’s journey. Her bravery and fighting spirit have left a deep imprint on all of us.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
