Obituary for George Govanis

George Govanis
On May 30, 2018, our beloved George, father, husband, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend peacefully passed away with the love of his family around him. He will be missed by his daughters Peggy (Ron), Vicki (Anthony) and his three grandchildren Adam, Ryan and Sydney whom he loved so very deeply.
He will also be missed by his brothers Vangelis-deceased (Vasiliki), Bob (Dina), Maria (Petro-deceased), Stavros (Zoe), Fani (Nouli). He is predeceased by his parents Dimitrios and Panagiota.
He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews who loved and adored him as he did them.
Like many, he came to Canada seeking a better life for himself and his family. He had the courage to make that leap with great success. He co-owned Sonny's Drive-In for over 40 years with his brother Bob, who was also his best friend. Often referring to his customers as "Hey buddy" he was known for his great sense of humour, his kindness and infectious smile.
On July 1, 1967 he married the love of his life, the late Maria and now joins her in paradise.
He lived his life the way he wanted to, on his terms and we will always love and miss him.
We love you to the moon and back.
