Obituary for M. Helen Flanders (Gallant)
Helen Flanders passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener at the age of 69.
Loving mother of David and his wife Kelly, John and his wife Sharon. Proud grandmother of Claire and Nathan. Predeceased by her sister Betty, and her father John. Survived by her mother Mildred, sister Shirley, and brother Henry.
Helen will be sadly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known her. Energetic, compassionate and blessed with a great sense of humour, she influenced not only her own boys but many of the special children she cared for as a child care provider for the Waterloo Region.
The family would like to say thank-you to the staff at Lanark Heights Long Term Care, St. Mary’s Hospital, and Freeport Hospital for their care and compassion.
A private service will be held, followed by a Celebration of Life at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Diabetes Canada or the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
