A very special lady

I met Anna-Maria in the Fall of 1993. We made a great connection and she treated me as a daughter. That time, I didn't speak any English and she was the first person who patiently spend time with me and touch me my firsts phrases in English from books she would get from the library. He was always kind with me and took care of me in one of my hardest time of my life.

For 23 years we kept in touch thru letters and phone calls. She always send me pictures of flowers and ended the letters saying "Love you". She could be anywhere in the world she would send me a kind note. She was so sensitive that she would feel I wasn't doing well with my health and she would call me to check how was doing.Amazing!

8 years a go, I had the opportunity of visiting her in Kitchener and it was a blast! love seing her and chatteting with her. She was amazed with me and with my ability to speak fluent English now. We could finally have a full conversation in person! We spoke about everything that afternoon and have good laughs.In November of  2016, I had another opportunity to see her in person and I am so glad I did visit her because now I have her nice smile fresh in my memory still.

She never forgot me and I will never forget her. People like her is very rare in this world and I know she was a very special human being. She will be deeply missed by me.
