Boehmer, Dorothy L. (nee Plomske) 1921-2017
Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Sunday January 15, 2017 after a brief illness. Loving mother of Brian (Linda) Boehmer, Nancy (Steven) Shaver and mother-in-law of Richard Ayres. Cherished Grandma of Allison, Shelley (Craig), Kristopher (Jen), Kristen (Quinton), Amy (John), Tyler (Trisha) and Heidi (Stefan). Beloved by her fourteen great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Carl (1990), daughter Janet Ayres (2012), parents William and Emma Plomske, siblings Irvin (Rose) Plomske, Milton (Elinore) Plomske, Bill (Nel) Plomske, Arthur (Lenore) Plomske, Irene (John) Hollinger, and brothers-in-law Dick Brown and George Boehmer. Survived by sister Delphine Brown and sister-in-law Lillian Boehmer. Formerly residing on Shuh Avenue in Kitchener, Dorothy resided at Parkwood Retirement Home in Waterloo. She will be sadly missed by many of the residents and staff at this wonderful facility.
Dorothy's family will receive relatives and friends from 1-2:45 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Thursday at 3:00 pm. Reception to follow. Interment Woodland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in honour of her daughter Janet, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (cards available at the funeral home).
