Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the age of 60.
Joanne will be missed and remembered by her dear friend Peter Strothman.
Dear daughter of the late Philip and Olga (nee Bauer) Boegel. Dear sister of Karen Reinhardt (Dr. David), Patricia Ernewein (Larry) and Mary Ellen Squires (Carl). Loving aunt of Lee Ann Reinhardt, Christopher Reinhardt (Coleen), Kirsten Raithby (Dan); Jeffrey Ernewein (Dale Ann), Lori Merlihan (Joe), Denise Acton (Kevin); Patrick Squires (fiance Chrissy), Carla Young (Jeff), Andrew Squires (Courtney).
Great-aunt to Elyse, Wesley, Lauren, Grant, Cassandra, Nicole, Colin, Alyson, Taylor, Joshua, Nolan, Jackson, Carter and Logan and the late John Jeffrey.
Joanne was an artist and graphic designer for many years. Her graphic designs, including logos and cartoons have appeared in promotional materials for the local public library system, city newsletters and publications, some local magazines, as well as private businesses. She had always loved to work with her hands. Another specialty area for her was creating 3-dimensionally. Joanne had brought to larger-than-life, imaginary and mystical characters through the creation of masks, puppets, costumes, and set designs for small theatre groups and parade floats.
Joanne's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519-749-8467) on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Private cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation or the K-W Humane Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
