The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Joan Hogg can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Don Hogg
Condolence: Growing up Mom often had limited resources but she always managed to keep us in decent clothes and fed with a hot meal and keep the house - she was always there when I came home from school.

I'm reminded of a couple "momizms" she often told me.

"Don just slow down""Where's the fire?"
"You'll never get rich if you eat standing up"
"You go through that stuff like it's going out of style"

Facing the challenges of life she followed closely behind dad throughout their marriage - tolerating his sometimes illusive dreams and schemes with rarely a complaint.
She was a very meek, mild and devoted soul. She taught me patience and how to respect others.

The last couple days It has occurred to me that now mom and dad are both gone

They don't need me anymore - but they've left behind people who do.

They couldn't take care of me anymore but they've left behind people who could.

So I know I'll be alright.

Goodbye Mom
