Masters, Fred Sr.

Passed peacefully in his sleep at home in Kitchener on Monday, November 20, 2017 in his 85th year. Fred is survived by Joan, his wife and soulmate of 53 years, his sons Fred Jr. (Kathy) and Paul (Sue), grandchildren Andrew, Brendan, Emily and Laura. Also survived by brothers Joe (Mary) and John, sister Mary (the late John), and sister-in-law Lillian. Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Alexandra, and brother Morris. Everyone who met Fred Sr. described him as a gentle, caring man. He was a long-time active parishioner at St. Anthony Daniel's Parish in Kitchener where he served as both Eucharistic Minister and Cross-bearer. He was a long-time Head Custodian with Waterloo Catholic District School Board where he served at many schools and at the Board Office.
Fred's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Parish prayers at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony Daniel RC Church, 29 Midland Dr., Kitchener, on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Mary's General Hospital Foundation in memory of Fred Sr. would be appreciated by the family.
