Lobsinger, Yvonne Irene (nee Lankowski),
Passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights Long-Term Care on Monday, May 20, 2019, at the age of 79. Loving mother of Paul and friend Heather Klages of Kitchener, Daniel of Kitchener, Maureen and friend Steve Goad of Cambridge and Kevin and his wife Patricia of Burlington. Cherished grandmother of Steven, David, William and Charlotte. Sister of Thomas of Kitchener and sister-in-law of Judi of Kitchener. Predeceased by her husband Gordon, her parents Walter Lankowski and Margaret Lemanski, her brothers Richard and John and sister-in-law Valerie. Following her graduation from high school at St. Mary's in Kitchener, Yvonne began a teaching career and taught for eight years at St. John, St. Francis and St. Bernadette Schools in Kitchener from 1958 to 1966. After many faithful years of care for her children, she worked for the Kitchener Public Library from 1988 until 2001 when she retired. She was also an active member at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, serving in various ministries with the Altar Guild, as a lector, baptism coordinator and RCIA instructor.
The Lobsinger family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., with parish prayers at 8:30 p.m., at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11 a.m., at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 11 Traynor Ave., Kitchener, Ontario, N2C 1W1. Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery to follow. Many thanks to the staff at Lanark Heights Long-Term Care and Riverbend Retirement Home for their exceptional care for Yvonne. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Carmel of St. Joseph or The Right to Life Association of K-W & Area would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
