Francois Dietrich, Yvonne:
Passed away peacefully, with family at her side, on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 77.
Beloved wife of the late Allan (2015).
Cherished mother of Kristen Dietrich (Sandro Bassanese) and Melissa Martinez.
Proud grandma of Alexandra, Matteo and Luca.
Dear sister of Elyse (the late Ralph) Novak, Mary Lou (Denis) Perreault and Gerry (Donna) Francois and sister-in-law of the late Doug (Peggy) Dietrich, Rosemary (the late Art) Missere, Roy (Rose) Dietrich and Bruce (the late Ruth Ann) Dietrich. Goddaughter of Sister Gloria Seifried, SSND and niece of Louise and Bob Mikol.
Will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Predeceased by her parents Roland (1998) and Rita (2001) Francois, and parents-in-law Walter (1990) and Caroline (2000) Dietrich.
Her love of family was demonstrated throughout her life. She delighted in and was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. She relished the daily phone calls with her family members to hear about triumphs and defeats – she always provided words of encouragement and wisdom to help guide us on our journey.
Yvonne was self-employed as an Interior Designer and loved bringing joy to people through her talent. She also enjoyed her time working at St. Stanislaus-St. Casimir Polish Credit Union. Yvonne was an incredible cook/baker and many appreciated her fantastic meals and treats over the years. She was always seen with her beautiful jewelry, nails and signature red lipstick and will be remembered for her fashion and style. Yvonne had a gift in being able to talk with anyone and make them feel special. Her sense of humour and political opinions always shone through even when she was struggling with health issues. The Republican Party definitely received more than a few poignant tweets!
A very special thank you to all the people who made Yvonne’s life more comfortable over the past few years as her health declined – Columbia Forest LTC, O.N.E. Transportation, and GRH Renal Clinic. Your dedication to your profession allowed us the opportunity to have more valuable time with our Mom.
Yvonne's family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral liturgy will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 4, 2022. Reception to follow.
