Obituary for Willy Flatt

Flatt, Willy
Born in Zerniki, Poland on January 25, 1937. Willy passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener on July 29, 2019. We are rejoicing for the permanent healing Willy has received and we have the assurance that his Lord was waiting for him with open arms. Willy leaves behind an amazing legacy of faith to God and loyalty to his devoted wife and children. Willy came to Canada with his parents Georg and Erna Flatt in 1950. They settled in Winnipeg and Willy lived there until moving to Hamilton, Ontario in 1957. He eventually moved to Kitchener, and met his wife Emma Berg in 1957. He was immediately smitten by her and they were married in 1958. He leaves behind his loving wife Emma, as well as son Gerry (Liliana), daughter Gisela, grandchildren Jacqueline, Courtney (Ben), Elisabeth, Rebecca, great grandsons Everett and Wesley. Dear brother of Ursula (Daniel) and Jack (Heide). Willy was a devoted volunteer with the Food Bank and Ontario Christian Gleaners. He had a family business in construction with his father Georg for 8 years, and then was a valued employee at E & E Seegmiller for 31 years. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Grand River Hospital, the ER, ICU-B and 6DN for their incredible, compassionate care.
Willy's family will receive relatives and friends from 6:30 - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
