Obituary

Obituary for Bill Shoults

Shoults, “Bill” William John:
September 5, 1951 – January 1st, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Bill late on Wednesday January 1st, 2020, at Freeport in Kitchener, at the young age of 68. Bill was surrounded by the love of his adoring children in his short time in the hospital, right to his final moment.

He was a very dedicated fan of Nascar, enjoyed playing in a pool league, loved dancing and music. What will be most remembered about Bill is his contagious laugh and incredible sense of humour. If you knew Bill you knew you needed to be ready for anything to be said. He was not only a wonderful father, but had amazing friendships with each of his children. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him.

Bill has been reunited with his beloved wife Debra and parents Mervyn and Margaret Shoults.

Loving father of Jason Shoults (Melanie), Melissa Shoults (Gilles), Samantha Shoults (Joey), Jeremy Newell (Kimiko), Ryan Newell, and Michael Shoults (Ayumi).

Proud Grandfather to Brittany, Blaize, Jesse, Noah, Marley, Alora, Daniel, Emma, Basia, Bailey, Gwendolyn, Alice, and Willow.

Overjoyed to have become a great grandfather to Oliver, Boden, Baylor, Xavier and soon to be baby Pitman.

Brother to Mike Shoults (Kim) , Patsy Shoults, Carol Verge (Gary), David Shoults and Daniel Shoults (Diane)

Bill had many work experiences in his life, from highway coaches to transit/roads for the City of North Bay, Executive Director of Northern Non-Profit Housing, followed by the Ministry of Housing, and finishing his career after many years of service at Greyhound Canada, where he spent time as the Safety Manager, but went back to his love of driving on their coaches until his retirement.

Bill’s family will receive friends and relatives from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday January 7th, 2020 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home at 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, Ontario (519-749-8467). A Memorial Service will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to The Grand River Hospital Foundation – Freeport Palliative Unit (cards available at the funeral home).

My condolences to all of Bill's family. I was lucky enough to know Bill for over forty years, working with him at Travelways in the beginning and at Greyhound much later. Any time you ran into him, he always brightened your day. He was a great guy and will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to Jason Shoults and family. Your father was a unique character full of life and spirit. Good ones like him are hard to find in this world. He was always a pleasure to be around at pool league. May he rest with eternal peace. Take care your friend Susan from Winnipeg.
