Obituary for Wesley Wallace Schweigert

Schweigert, Wesley Wallace:
September 21, 1929 - April 14, 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wesley Wallace Schweigert.

Born in the Ottawa Valley area, where his heart stayed and only where the best fish could be caught in Lake Clear.

He spent many years logging in the Ottawa Valley and in the construction industry in Kitchener, taking great pride in pointing out homes he was a part of.

Wes leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Maureen, the love of his life; children Barry (Cathy) Schweigert, Kathy (Mike) Witter, Karen (Herb) Kreischer and daughter-in-law Verna. Wes was loved and adored by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his son Harold Schweigert.
Wes had many special people in his life, but was especially loved by Calvin and Linda, Syd and Gail.
Predeceased by siblings Elmer, Leonard, Arthur and Aileen.

Wes was a very kind, sweet strong man. He loved his Maureen so much. His strong fight to live we are quite sure was not to leave her.
Wes' favourite things were to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs, sitting on the porch smoking his pipe, his garden, Tim Hortons, fishing and chewing tobacco.
You will be forever in our hearts Dad.

A private graveside service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Matthew's Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).

Say not in grief "he is no more", but in thankfulness that he was.
