Walter "Wally" Loscher
Our hearts filled and overflowing with sadness we regret to announce that Walter "Wally" Loscher died peacefully in his sleep with his wife by his side holding his hand.
Wally, always quick to tell a joke and laugh was even quicker to help someone in need or to solve a problem. He observed everything and everyone, a real student of life. He knew the value of hard, honest work and a good name. Wally was brave and fearless, not afraid to tackle any job. He was an avid outdoorsman, passionate about fishing, boating and being on the water; his first love since the time he was a little boy and his "Sissy" would bait his hooks with worms and take the fish off.
Wally loved his family immensely. Completely devoted to them his favourite memories, the stories he told over and over, are of the times when they shared in his passions of boating and fishing, going on camping adventures (often punctuated by uninvited animal invasions), ice fishing during the winter and lazy warm summer days at the lake swimming and fishing with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Wally leaves behind his devoted wife and best friend of 26 years Sue Hodgins. His cherished daughter Tiffany Delsaut (Aaron), his exceptional son Paul Loscher (Laura) and loving stepson Travis Hodgins (Allison). They will all miss his hilarious sense of humour (no one can make you laugh like Dad can) and wise counsel.
Wally is the cherished grandpa (Pappa) to Frank and Katarina Delsaut, and Lucas Mueller-Hodgins father of Wally's first great granddaughter Kiya.
Wally is greatly missed by his dear sister Ruth Scheid and his nieces Carla (Mike) and Jennifer (Jack). And by his extended family, brothers and sisters in-law Edison Hodgins (Dawna), Douglas Hodgins (Carol), Linda Thompson (Brad), Beverley Hodgins (Paul). Fondly remembered by Jan, Paul, Michael, Katie, Jolene, Eddy, Glen, Carole, Jack, Luke, Chloe, Brooke, Megan, Jessaca, Dominic and Noah.
Wally also says goodbye to all his fishing buddies and his Erieau "B" Dock family as he goes "Somewhere Else" one final time.
Wally will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know and love him during his life.
