Obituary for Vaclav "Vince" Sadilek
Sadilek, Vaclav:
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a caring, unselfish, family-oriented man. Vaclav “Vince” Sadilek passed away on November 8, 2022.
He is survived by his wife Jarka “babi”; children Vanda (Michael) and Dan (Eve); granddaughter Olivia; and Erik (Tara) and Effi and extended family. He is predeceased by his loving son Bernard “Bernie”.
Vince was born in 1945 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He brought his young family to Canada in 1969 via Vienna and settled in Kitchener, Ontario. He was a welder by trade and worked tirelessly for 32 years at Budd (Canada).
Road travels with family over the years were part of many everlasting memories. Cross Canada trips, winters in Florida on the beach and exploring camping in upstate New York were recurring adventures.
Vince had a lifelong love of sports and imparted that to his children. He was an active participant in some and an enthusiastic spectator of most. His favourites were tennis, hockey, the Olympics and motorsport racing. He looked forward to playing games and jigsaw puzzles at frequent family get-togethers. He was funny and his laughter contagious. He was an avid book reader. He liked to watch movies – especially the classics. Vince also appreciated music and listened to a variety of genres – from opera to country. He showed his curious creative side while doing projects around the house and tinkering with cars or mechanical gadgets. Vince was rarely seen without a beard, moustache, and baseball cap.
He led a full, comfortable life devoted to spending time with Jarka and his family. From the moment his granddaughter Olivia was born, Vince was happiest being the proud “deda” in her life. Those who were fortunate to have known or met him clearly saw his kind, selfless nature. He was always eager to help others. Vince was instrumental in the early success of his son’s business. He was truly one of the good ones. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
As per Vince’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A Celebration of Life Open House will be scheduled in the summer of 2023. Details will be announced at a later date.
